Le Premier ministre Robert Beugré Mambé inaugure le Lycée professionnel des métiers des énergies renouvelables, un pôle d'excellence pour la transition énergétique ivoirienne

Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé officially inaugurated the brand-new Vocational High School for Renewable Energy Trades (LP-MER) in Yopougon on Friday, December 5, 2025. This modern infrastructure is strategic for the future of energy and the development of Côte d'Ivoire.

A comprehensive campus for the expertise of tomorrow

Built on three hectares, the LP-MER is designed to offer cutting-edge training. The school consists of two large buildings:

  1. Administrative and Theoretical Hub: It houses offices, two meeting rooms, a computer room with 33 workstations, a trainers' room and 13 classrooms totaling 384 seats for theoretical teaching.
  2. Practical Hub (Workshops): This second building is dedicated to six specialized workshops, covering crucial areas:
  3. Solar energy (thermal and photovoltaic)
  4. Electricity and Home Automation
  5. Metal construction
  6. Energy derived from biomass

Training programs tailored to the market

The institution offers two training programs to meet the specific needs of the sector:

  1. Initial training: A three-year cycle to obtain the Technician's Certificate (BT) .
  2. Qualifying Training: Short courses to train qualified professionals, particularly as installers of home automation and solar photovoltaic systems.

For this 2025-2026 academic year, the high school welcomes 62 learners (including 13 girls), although it has a total capacity of 500 places, signaling a strong potential for growth.

A crucial investment for the country

The Minister of Technical Education, Koffi N'Guessan , emphasized the mission of the LP-MER: to provide Côte d'Ivoire with a pool of specialized skills . Faced with climate challenges and the need for energy transition, this high school is intended to prepare young people to actively diversify the national energy mix.

Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé praised the minister's work, stressing that this establishment comes at a crucial time, in a context of building solar power plants and developing initiatives to popularize green energy.

He also noted that future graduates will be essential for safety and urban development, particularly in maintaining elevators in high-rise buildings and supporting fire services.

This ambitious project was made possible thanks to the support and expertise of the Kingdom of Spain , which provided the financing and technical support for the construction and commissioning.
