Le BIPIA mise sur la cartographie pour piloter l’intégration africaine
The Ivorian Bureau for the Promotion of African Integration (BIPIA) is taking the offensive to transform the management of migration flows in Côte d'Ivoire. Its Director General, Mama Moussa , officially launched an ambitious project to map resident African communities on Thursday, April 16, 2026, in Abidjan-Plateau.
Faced with constantly evolving migration flows, the current management tools require a thorough overhaul. For Mama Moussa, mastering governance instruments absolutely requires a precise understanding of the local context.
"African integration begins with a simple requirement: to know, understand and organize our human realities," he stated during the workshop to validate the terms of reference.
Although current estimates provide a working basis, they remain insufficient for refining public policies:
The objective is to replace this global data with a territorialized and usable reading , allowing us to understand not only the geographical distribution of these communities, but also their economic impact and their specific needs.
The project, with a total cost of 615 million FCFA (entirely financed by the State through the Public Investment Program), will be structured around three major axes:
Included in the National Development Program (PND 2026-2030) , this initiative, led by the Ministry of African Integration, aims to make Côte d'Ivoire a model of stability. By transforming raw data into decision-making tools, the government intends to anticipate migration challenges in order to build a more prosperous and harmonious society.
