President Ibrahim Traoré of Burkina Faso received his Beninese counterpart, Romuald Wadagni, at the Koulouba Palace during an official visit to Ouagadougou. According to the joint statement presented by the Burkinabe Foreign Minister, Karamoko Jean Marie TRAORÉ, the two heads of state reaffirmed their commitment to building a strong partnership based on mutual trust and solidarity.

📈 Economy and logistics: The Port of Cotonou at the heart of trade

The economic outlook is promising, particularly in the trade, industry, infrastructure and vocational training sectors.

The key point: The strategic role of the port of Cotonou in supplying Burkina Faso was strongly emphasized. Both Presidents pledged to streamline transport corridors to facilitate bilateral trade.

Next institutional steps:

1. Accelerate the holding of the 5th Session of the Joint High Commission for Cooperation.
2. Finalize the various bilateral agreements still pending.

Beyond the political and economic issues, the two heads of state welcomed the harmonious integration of their respective communities, recalling the depth of the historical and human ties that unite the people of Burkina Faso and Benin.
