Cameroun : Le Ministère des Enseignements Secondaires (Minesec) Dément la Suspension des Cours à l'Échelle Nationale
The Ministry of Secondary Education (Minesec) in Cameroon has formally denied the alleged suspension of school activities in the country's schools.
Following tensions observed in some regions after the presidential election, a fake statement announcing the suspension of classes circulated. However, this information is categorically false, according to the government.
The Minister of Secondary Education, Pauline Nalova Lyonga, issued a press release on October 29th, stating that "no text suspends school activities at the national level." She clarified that no official directive or decree has been issued to interrupt instruction in secondary schools throughout Cameroon.
The government official was careful to distinguish this from exceptional and localized regional measures. The minister acknowledged that disruptions to schedules have been reported in some areas due to isolated security concerns.
