In Bimbo, in Bangui's 9th arrondissement, the social climate is tense. Since April 7th , municipal employees have been on an indefinite strike demanding payment of 12 months of back wages . This standoff has completely paralyzed the local administration and plunged the workers into deep distress.

A city at a standstill

This Thursday morning, the scene is striking: the gates of the town hall are closed, guarded by security personnel. Inside, silence has replaced the usual administrative hubbub. The direct consequence for users: a complete blockage .

1. Civil status: It is impossible to obtain a birth certificate.
2. Weddings: Several celebrations planned for this weekend are threatened with postponement.
3. Essential services: All cases are pending.

"I came for a birth certificate, but nothing is working. Even those getting married this weekend are blocked. It's worrying," says Samson, a distraught user.
