Centrafrique : le Président Touadéra réélu pour un troisième mandat avec plus de 76 % des voix
Incumbent President Faustin-Archange Touadéra has won a third term as head of the Central African Republic , according to provisional results published by the National Elections Authority. With 76.15% of the vote , he far outpaced his main challengers, Anicet-Georges Dologuélé (14.66%) and Henri-Marie Dondra (3.19%) .
This election is in line with the 2023 constitutional referendum , which removed the limitation on presidential terms and extended the term to seven years , allowing Touadéra to run for a third consecutive term.
Voter turnout was estimated at around 52% , despite persistent security tensions in some parts of the country. Several opposition candidates contested the provisional results , denouncing irregularities and calling for the election to be annulled. The final results must be validated by the Constitutional Council in the coming weeks.
President since 2016 , Faustin-Archange Touadéra was re-elected in 2020 , and his third term is taking place in a political context marked by the consolidation of his power and the management of security crises in the country , while maintaining alliances with various armed groups and international actors.
This victory confirms Touadéra's grip on the Central African political scene , but also raises questions about democratic competition and the transparency of the electoral process in the country. International observers will closely monitor the final validation of the results and the organization of the next government cycle.
