Classement FIFA (Janvier 2026) : Le Maroc intègre le Top 10 mondial, la Côte d’Ivoire progresse
FIFA's first rankings for 2026 have been released. Driven by the recent results of the Africa Cup of Nations, the world rankings have undergone major changes, notably marked by the historic rise of Morocco and Senegal.
Despite a defeat in the final of "their" home Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco has achieved an exceptional result in the rankings. The Atlas Lions have climbed three places to reach 8th in the world . By entering this exclusive Top 10, the Kingdom of Morocco has the distinction of surpassing historic nations like Germany and Belgium.
Senegal , the big winner of the AFCON, is logically reaping the rewards of its victory. The Lions of Teranga now sit 12th in the world rankings , ahead of Italy and Colombia.
Nigeria also made a meteoric rise. Thanks to a jump of 12 places, the Super Eagles now occupy 26th place in the world , closely followed by Algeria , which climbed to 28th position (+6 places).
Ivory Coast , the 2023 African champions, continue their climb to the top. They are now ranked 37th in the world . On the continental stage, the Elephants are knocking on the door of the Top 5, currently occupying 6th place in Africa .
Morocco retains its continental throne, closely followed by a Senegal stronger than ever. Here is the current hierarchy:
