Faced with the escalating violence in Mali, Abidjan breaks its silence. Following coordinated attacks by the FLA and JNIM , the Ivorian government has clarified its strategy, combining security measures with regional solidarity.
During Wednesday's Council of Ministers meeting, government spokesperson Amadou Coulibaly reiterated Ivory Coast's support for the positions of ECOWAS and the African Union .
Faced with instability in the Sahel-Saharan region, Ivory Coast has sealed off its land access. Although logistical details remain confidential, authorities assure that the security measures are "sufficiently robust" to block any attempt at terrorist infiltration.
With the conflict raising fears of further mass displacement, the Ivorian government is preparing for an increase in the number of refugees.
