The Central African Republic (CAR) has taken a historic step in modernizing its infrastructure. The government has officially sealed a public-private partnership (PPP) for the construction of a major 1,249 km regional highway , linking Bambouti to Sibut, with a planned extension to South Sudan.

A strategic project on a regional scale

This corridor is not limited to the Central African Republic's borders. By integrating Uganda and South Sudan, this project aims to transform the CAR into a true commercial hub of Central Africa. The objective is threefold:

To sustainably open up the Central African territory.
To facilitate economic exchanges between neighboring countries.
Strengthening security and social cohesion in the areas crossed.

Key figures for the construction project

Investment: 1,400 billion FCFA.
Technical partner: The Ugandan company Al Wasit.
Linear: 1,249 km of asphalt linking the east and center of the country.

The political stakes: This signing embodies the vision of President Faustin-Archange Touadéra, who makes the modernization of infrastructure the engine of economic growth and national stability.
