Embalò brise le silence sur le "putsch" polémique : «Si j’avais moi-même organisé tout cela…»
A "fake coup," a "scheme"! International opinion has reacted badly to what happened in Guinea-Bissau. While the presidential election results were awaited, President Umaro Sissoco Embaó announced that he had been the victim of a coup. Many accused him of having orchestrated the whole thing. The former Guinean president has broken his silence.
“If I had organized all of this myself, I would still be in power,” he told our colleagues at Jeune Afrique. The now former head of state of Guinea-Bissau thus dismisses as “fake news” comments suggesting that he himself co-orchestrated the coup with General Horta N'Tam. He also implicates senior officers in the coup, accusing them of being behind it.
