Formation professionnelle : Un nouvel élan pour l’insertion des jeunes à Madagascar

The landscape of technical education in Madagascar is modernizing. This Wednesday, the National Institute for Promotion and Training (INFP) in Ivato took a key step with the inauguration of its newly rehabilitated and equipped mechanics workshop.

This transformation is the result of a strategic collaboration between the supervising ministry and its international partners, notably the French Development Agency (AFD) .

State-of-the-art equipment for immediate immersion

The objective of this renovation is clear: to align training with the technological realities of today's automotive sector. According to Dr. Todisoa Manampy Andriamampandry , Minister of Technical Education and Vocational Training, this modernization is the essential lever for employability.

"A modern workshop and suitable equipment allow trainees to integrate quickly. These tools have been specifically chosen to meet the evolving needs of the mechanic profession."

Towards an entrepreneurship-focused model

The ministry does not intend to stop at simply transferring know-how. The national strategy now rests on three pillars:

  1. Geographic expansion : 15 new establishments have already been created across the country.
  2. Training-employment alignment : The programs are based on the real needs of the job market.
  3. Financial support : A funding assistance scheme is currently being studied to enable graduates to launch their own businesses.

The stated ambition is to transform students into wealth creators. The minister emphasized that the long-term vision is to train young people capable of self-employment and, by extension, of becoming job providers for their peers.

A ceremony under the banner of partnership

The event took place in the presence of high-ranking officials, including the supervising minister, the mayor of Ivato, Penjy Randrianarisoa , as well as representatives of the financial and technical partners who support the development of professional skills in the Big Island.
