Guessabo : une station-service et un minicar ravagés par un violent incendie
A violent fire broke out on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the PETROCI gas station located at the Guessabo intersection in the city of Antelopes, on the Daloa–Duékoué road. The blaze, which occurred in broad daylight, caused significant material damage and sowed panic among the local population.
Fueled by a hot, dry wind, the flames spread rapidly, consuming the gas station, considered a major economic hub for the town, in just a few minutes. Explosions from tanks containing gasoline, butane gas, and diesel fuel were heard, as residents watched helplessly.
The fire also destroyed a Massa-type minibus, which was presumably refueling at the time of the tragedy.
Firefighters dispatched to the scene managed to contain the blaze after several minutes of intervention. No official information has yet been released regarding any potential loss of life.
An investigation has been opened by the relevant authorities to determine the exact origin of this fire.
