Lac Tchad : L’armée repousse une incursion de Boko Haram

A terrorist attack targeting an advanced unit of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) was thwarted on the night of March 2, 2026. President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno confirmed that the assault, led by elements of Boko Haram, was vigorously repelled.

The outcome of the operation:

On the terrorist side: 8 attackers neutralized and war materiel seized.
On the FDS side: One soldier fell on the field of honour and two others were wounded.

The head of state paid tribute to the sacrifice of the deceased soldier and reiterated Chad's firm commitment to continue hunting down terrorist remnants in the Lake area.
