L’Alliance des États du Sahel (AES) concrétise sa Force Unifiée : 6 000 hommes mobilisés
The joint defense project of the ESA countries has reached a decisive stage. On January 29, 2026, General Assimi Goïta, President of the Transition of Mali, officially received Brigadier General Daouda Traoré, Commander of the Unified ESA Force (FU-AES).
During this meeting, General Traoré presented the operational progress of this elite unit, initially composed of 6,000 soldiers from Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger. The Head of State welcomed this significant progress and reiterated the strategic priorities aimed at achieving lasting stability in the region in the face of terrorist and cross-border threats. This exchange confirms the political will of the three nations to build an autonomous and integrated security architecture.
