Le Capitaine Ibrahim Traoré plaide pour un rôle accru des femmes dans le développement africain
Captain Ibrahim Traoré , President of Faso and Head of State, reaffirmed his commitment to the empowerment of women during an audience granted this Wednesday, November 26, 2025. He received a delegation of women, gathered in Ouagadougou for the 14th International Forum of Enterprising and Dynamic Women (FIED) .
Welcoming these participants from 60 countries , the Head of State emphasized the crucial role of women in the fight for the continent's development. He made a direct appeal:
"Who better than you to help us, Heads of State, to get Africa out of this situation?"
Captain Traoré noted that Burkina Faso has implemented concrete initiatives to support women, particularly in rural areas . These actions aim to facilitate their access to water, production spaces, and support for product processing.
He encouraged all women, both in cities and in the countryside, to cultivate the spirit of entrepreneurship , reiterating his availability and commitment to supporting them in their projects.
Advocating for a self-sufficient, united, and supportive Africa , the Burkinabe President called on women to raise their voices. According to him, women have the power to influence and change the decisions of leaders .
The delegation commended this leadership. Ms. Nkosazana Dlamini-ZUMA , speaking on behalf of the participants, encouraged Captain Traoré in his fight for an "integrated Africa." For her part, Ms. Djelika YEO , founding president of FIED, expressed her gratitude for his advocacy for the most vulnerable, and particularly for African women.
