Ghana has taken a historic step towards continental integration. President John Dramani Mahama officially announced free visas for all African nationals, coupled with the rollout of a new e-Visa system.

While the idea was first raised in 2024 by former President Nana Akufo-Addo, it encountered technical limitations. Today, thanks to close collaboration between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, the Interior, and Transport , Ghana has the necessary technological infrastructure to ensure the system's reliability.
The objective is clear: To make Ghana a model of mobility in Africa, proving that open borders can go hand in hand with high-level security control.
