Libreville : Un incendie au quartier Piquas laisse trois familles sans abri et blesse une femme enceinte
According to our colleagues at MSN: A violent fire broke out last Wednesday in the working-class neighborhood of Piquas, in the 3rd arrondissement of Libreville, destroying the belongings of three families and plunging its occupants into total disarray.
According to information reported by the AGP, the fire was caused by a short circuit. The fire started in a wooden house when an electrical outlet threw out sparks.
The events unfolded in tragedy. A four-year-old girl is said to have unintentionally spread the fire by trying, unfortunately, to extinguish the first flames with water.
Awakened by the screams of alarm, the girl's pregnant mother went outside and then returned to the burning house to try to save her belongings. It was at this point that the fire intensified.
Her brother, who rushed to her aid, was only able to pull her out of the blaze at the cost of a violent fall on her stomach. The woman, who suffered burns to her back, is currently under observation at Amissa Hospital.
Starting in this first house, the fire quickly spread to two other neighboring homes, significantly worsening the material damage. Three families are now homeless. Local authorities are now expected on the scene to assess the extent of the damage and organize emergency aid for the victims.
