The city of Tahoua, a strategic crossroads in southwestern Niger, was the scene of violent clashes on the night of Sunday 8 to Monday 9 March 2026. An attempted "terrorist" incursion targeting air base 401 , located within the local airport grounds, was neutralized by the defense forces.
