Niger : Sabotage stratégique du pipeline par le MPLJ au sud de Jaouro
Niger's oil sector is once again paralyzed. On Sunday, December 21, 2025, the Patriotic Movement for Liberty and Justice (MPLJ) attacked the export pipeline south of Jaouro. This coordinated operation was notable for its technical precision: after severing the main pipeline with an improvised explosive device (IED), the attackers stormed the nearby pumping station to destroy its control systems.
This double act of sabotage has blocked the flow of crude oil to the Sèmè-Kpodji terminal in Benin. By simultaneously targeting the pipeline and the management infrastructure, the armed group has ensured a prolonged production interruption. The incident underscores the persistent vulnerability of the pipeline route and raises the urgent need to strengthen military and technological surveillance at these isolated sites.
