Nigeria : Massacre au marché de Kasuwan Daji, le bilan grimpe à 50 morts
Horror struck the village of Demo in Niger State, where a brutal attack on the Kasuwan Daji market left at least 50 people dead last Saturday. An armed gang stormed the market, opening fire indiscriminately on the crowd before looting food supplies and abducting several civilians.
While mass funerals have already taken place, President Bola Tinubu strongly condemned this act of violence. He ordered the deployment of security forces to track down the attackers and free the hostages.
This tragedy is part of a spiral of increasing insecurity in the region, recently marked by the mass abduction of more than 300 students at St. Mary's school in Papiri, the last group of whom was released at the end of December.
