Nigéria : Quand Dangote fait voler les avions en Europe
This is clearly one of the largest projects ever undertaken by an African industrialist. Dangote's mega oil refinery, inaugurated almost three years ago, is now operating at full capacity, processing 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
Its flagship products include gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and heating oil. Reuters recently revealed that Europe has been scrambling for jet fuel from this mega-refinery located in Lekki since the beginning of the crisis in Iran.
For example, the United Kingdom imported 130,000 tonnes of JetFuel from the Dangote refinery in March 2026.
According to the British news agency, the Dangote plant produces approximately 24 million liters of jet fuel per day. A large portion of this jet fuel is shipped to Europe. The United Kingdom, for example, imported 130,000 tons of jet fuel from the Dangote refinery in March 2026.
The British government is now convinced that kerosene imports from West Africa will help the country avoid an aviation fuel crisis this summer.
