A Tense Security Context

According to Lieutenant-Colonel Fatimata Salifou Marafa, Head of the Bureau, the intercepted quantity could have been used by malicious groups for terrorist purposes . She also reiterated that the use of this type of material is strictly prohibited by regulations.

A Key Role in AES

This seizure is all the more noteworthy as it would be the second operation of this scale since the beginning of 2025 .

Colonel Rabiou Gouzaye, Director of Customs Investigations, warmly commended the professionalism of the officers involved. He emphasized the crucial importance of Customs services within the Sahel Alliance (SAA) region in curbing the trafficking of illicit goods and contributing to regional stability.
