Samuel Eto’o : La politique, frein majeur à son action à la Fecafoot
Cameroonian football icon Samuel Eto'o has pointed to an unexpected obstacle to his management of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT): the presidential ambitions wrongly attributed to him. In an interview with the newspaper Le Monde , he asserts that 99% of his current difficulties stem from his opponents' fear of him running for the highest office.
According to him, his growing popularity is creating paranoia within the circles of power, transforming every sports reform into a suspicious political maneuver. "Not everyone wants to become head of state," he insisted, lamenting that these misinterpretations are slowing the development of local football. Despite these obstacles, the former striker reaffirms his determination to focus exclusively on modernizing Cameroonian sport.
