A fratricidal crime has cast a shadow over the West Fair district of Dakar. A 32-year-old man fatally stabbed his younger brother, a 22-year-old student, following a violent argument sparked by his girlfriend's presence in the family home.
B. S, 32, unemployed, spent the night of October 10-11, 2025, in the family home in Ouest-Foire with his girlfriend. On the morning of October 11, his mother, unhappy with the situation, demanded the girl's immediate departure. When B. S refused, the mother called on her younger son, MS, to get the girl out of the house, according to Seneweb sources close to the prosecutor's office.
After the younger brother complied with his mother's request, a violent fight broke out between the two brothers. According to witnesses, the younger brother gained the upper hand during the altercation. Enraged and unable to contain his anger, BS then grabbed a knife and struck his younger brother three times: once in the back, once in the stomach, and once in the thigh. Afterward, he fled with his girlfriend. Young MS, seriously injured, was rushed to a hospital. But despite the treatment provided, he succumbed to his injuries on October 18, seven days after the attack.
Actively sought, BS was finally located and arrested by the gendarmes of the territorial brigade of the Fair.
Placed in police custody for murder, he was brought before the Dakar High Court on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
