Tchad : lourde peine pour un trafiquant et maintien en détention pour sept autres jeunes
The N'Djamena High Court ruled on Wednesday, December 31, on the fate of eight young people arrested for drug use and possession. The defendants were apprehended in the Ridina Mandjakoli neighborhood (5th arrondissement) before being detained at the Klessoum prison.
The verdict has been handed down for one of them, identified as both a user and a dealer: he was sentenced to five years in prison . As for the seven other members of the group, their cases remain pending. Among them, a man proclaiming his innocence—claiming he was simply visiting his wife after she gave birth—had his request for provisional release denied. His trial has been postponed until next week.
