TCHAD/17 ans après la disparition d'Ibni Oumar : Le PLD exige toujours la vérité
On February 3, 2008, the Chadian political landscape was plunged into darkness with the abduction of Professor Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh . Seventeen years later, the Party for Liberties and Development (PLD) remembers and reaffirms that time will not erase the need for justice.
Abducted from his home in front of his family by members of the defense and security forces, the man who held the position of First Secretary General of the LDP has never been heard from again. Although declared legally and religiously dead, the mystery surrounding the exact circumstances of his disappearance remains unsolved.
For his supporters and family, this lack of closure constitutes an "open wound" and one of the darkest chapters in Chad's political history.
Professor Ibni Oumar was not only a politician; he was a scientist and a fervent advocate of democracy. His approach, based on dialogue and moral rigor, aimed to build a strong and peaceful nation.
"The best way to honor his memory is to continue his fight: the fight for a united, prosperous Chad that respects the rule of law." — PLD Executive Committee
In a solemn statement published on February 3, 2026, the LDP paid tribute to the sacrifice of its leader. The party emphasizes that its struggle does not end with commemoration:
