Tiémoko Meyliet Koné, le Vice-président de la République distingué Docteur Honoris Causa à Dakar

The Vice-President of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, Tiémoko Meyliet Koné, was awarded an honorary doctorate by the African Center for Advanced Studies in Management (CESAG) in Dakar during the institution's 2025-2026 academic year opening ceremony. This prestigious recognition acknowledges decades of commitment to economic governance and human capital development in Africa.

Represented at the ceremony by the Ambassador of Côte d'Ivoire to Senegal, Mamadou Haïdara, the Vice-President expressed his profound gratitude in a message to the audience. He welcomed the tribute, which went beyond himself, stating that it recognized "all those who contribute to the education, integration, and development of our region." He also dedicated this distinction to African youth, whom he described as "talented, ambitious, and full of promise."

By awarding this title, CESAG highlighted the exceptional career of Tiémoko Meyliet Koné, former Governor of the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO). Under his leadership, the regional monetary institution strengthened its credibility and its position as a pillar of financial stability within the WAEMU. His work also supported key programs in training and academic excellence, particularly in partnership with CESAG.

Beyond its symbolic value, this distinction testifies to the key role it plays in promoting rigorous public governance, based on integrity, competence, and ethics. It also reinforces Côte d'Ivoire's position as a major player in intellectual and economic development in West Africa.

This international recognition, making him the first person to receive this distinction from CESAG, marks a new stage in Tiémoko Meyliet Koné's career. Discreet yet influential, he has established himself as one of the leading figures in African technocratic leadership, combining strategic vision, institutional experience, and a commitment to training the elites of tomorrow.
