UEMOA : Le Togo prend les commandes de la Cour de justice
Togo is strengthening its influence within the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA). Magistrate Lodonou Kuami Gameli has been elected president of the Union's Court of Justice by his peers. Elected for a three-year term, he succeeds Mahawa Sémou Diouf of Senegal.
The official installation ceremony will take place this Wednesday, February 11, 2026, in Ouagadougou. A judge within the institution since 2021, Mr. Lodonou is a recognized expert in business law, having notably headed the OHADA National Commission.
This appointment is a victory for Togolese diplomacy and a key step for the Court, guarantor of legal security and economic integration of the eight member states.
