The Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Food Production, Bruno Nabagné Koné, chaired the workshop on the agricultural sector review for the 2025 fiscal year on Friday, June 5, 2026 in Yamoussoukro. Organised in the presence of the Minister Delegate Bernard Kini Comoé, this event aimed to consolidate the successes of the past year and to define the orientations of the third phase of the National Agricultural Investment Programme (PNIA III).

A 2025 review focused on performance and resilience

The minister praised the commitment of Ivorian producers, describing their overall performance as satisfactory. He specifically highlighted the achievements of the PNIA II program, which resulted in:

  1. Increased modernization of agricultural operations.
  2. Strengthening the sector's resilience to risks.
  3. A tangible improvement in living conditions in rural areas.

Heading towards the PNIA III (2026-2030)

For the new phase opening within the framework of the 2026-2030 National Development Plan (NDP), Bruno Koné urged all stakeholders to accelerate the sectoral transition. The priorities of this roadmap rest on three major pillars:

  1. Innovation and competitiveness to create more added value.
  2. The digitalization of agricultural processes.
  3. Strengthening Ivory Coast's food sovereignty .

Ivorian agriculture in key figures

According to data presented by Kokora Dibi, Director General of Planning, Statistics and Projects, the agricultural sector reaffirms its role as an engine of the national economy:

Global leadership and local transformation: Côte d'Ivoire maintains its position as a world leader in the cocoa, cashew, and rubber markets. The country is also reaching a historic milestone in the local processing of its raw materials, with processing rates now reaching 41% for cocoa and 43% for cashew nuts .

This meeting in Yamoussoukro thus marks the starting point of a new wave of reforms and highly strategic investments for the future of the Ivorian agro-industry.
