Cacao ivoirien : Yves Brahima Koné clarifie la situation des camions « bloqués »
Faced with growing concern about lines of trucks parked near the ports of Abidjan and San-Pedro, the Director General of the Coffee-Cocoa Council (CCC), Yves Brahima Koné , held a press conference this Wednesday, January 14, 2026. His message is clear: national production will be fully absorbed, but the law must be respected.
According to the head of the CCC, the alleged blockage of unloading only affects carriers operating illegally. The main obstacle lies in the absence of a Bill of Lading , an essential administrative document that verifies the origin, quantity, and sanitary conformity of the goods.
“If the operator and the exporter do not validate the bill of lading, the cargo cannot legally leave its production area. Trucks parked without papers are illegal,” Yves Brahima Koné emphasized.
To reassure stakeholders in the sector, the Director General provided figures on recent port activity:
One of the major consequences of this situation is market volatility. Yves Brahima Koné lamented a drop in the export price , which fell from 4,000 CFA francs to 3,200 CFA francs in 24 hours (on Tuesday, January 13), a fall directly attributed to unfounded rumors of a widespread blockade.
In conclusion, the regulator wanted to send a strong signal to local farmers: "All Ivorian cocoa produced on our plantations will be purchased." The government remains fully committed to ensuring the sale of the national harvest.
