Relance de la filière coco en Côte d’Ivoire : Lancement d'une mission nationale pour créer la future interprofession
The Ivorian government is stepping up its efforts to structure the coconut sector. From June 14 to 21, 2026 , the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Food Production will deploy a major national mission for information, awareness-raising and field surveys.
This initiative is led by the Directorate of Professional Agricultural Organizations (DOPA), with technical and financial support from the Rubber-Oil Palm-Coconut Council (CHPC) and FIRCA. Its ultimate goal: to lay the groundwork for the future Interprofessional Agricultural Organization (OIA) for the sector.

The discussions will cover: The legal framework for OIAs, the timetable for the creation of the interprofessional body, and the plan for setting up professional colleges.
This restructuring is part of the government's effort to revitalize a crop crucial to the economy of the Ivorian coast. The sector was also recently brought under the regulatory authority of the CHPC (Centre Hospitalier de la Côte d'Ivoire).
