Bilan MFFE 2025 : Une lutte intensifiée contre les VBG et pour la protection sociale en Côte d’Ivoire

The Ministry of Women, Family and Children (MFFE) has officially published its 2025 Statistical Yearbook . Presented at the Sofitel Abidjan Hotel Ivoire, this document provides a comprehensive overview of government actions, revealing both increased vigilance and the scale of remaining social challenges.

1. Gender-Based Violence (GBV): Increased Support

The year 2025 was marked by a massive awareness campaign reaching over 517,000 people . Despite this, the reality on the ground remains worrying:

  1. 10,747 cases of GBV have been identified and treated.
  2. 841 cases of rape were recorded.
  3. Profile of victims: A majority of women, while children represent 36% of survivors.
  4. Critical areas: The Abidjan district, Sud-Comoé, Gbêkê and Haut-Sassandra remain the main hotspots for these reports.

2. Child Protection: Focus on Vulnerability

The ministry has deployed significant resources to secure the future of minors:

  1. Violence and neglect: 6,926 child victims received support.
  2. Children in street situations: 1,794 minors (mostly aged 11 to 15) have been identified and assisted.
  3. Comprehensive support: More than 257,000 vulnerable children received specific support, and 22,000 were supervised in structures dedicated to early childhood.

3. Empowerment and Family: The Financial Lever

Women's empowerment is emerging as a pillar of the national strategy:

  1. Funding: The National Fund “Women and Development” has granted loans to 1,994 new beneficiaries, bringing the total amount invested to 4.1 billion FCFA for more than 10,000 women.
  2. Family stability: More than 3,500 couples received counseling and 3,100 vulnerable families received direct assistance to improve family budget management and internal communication.
“This reference document helps to inform decision-making, guide planning and strengthen accountability.” — Hélène N’Garnim-Ganga , Resident Coordinator of the United Nations system.

More reliable data collection

According to Sylla Losseni , Director of Planning at the MFFE, the strength of this directory lies in the rigor of its methodology. With a data transmission rate exceeding 90% , the tool provides a solid foundation for adjusting public policies to better support the most vulnerable populations.

Developed by the DPED, this 2025 directory is now established as the compass for social interventions in Ivory Coast, supported by technical partners and civil society.
