Future senior civil servants in Côte d'Ivoire at the heart of the challenges of financial transparency. On Thursday, June 25, 2026, the National School of Administration (ENA) hosted the 8th edition of "Meetings with Institutions." Dedicated to the role of the Court of Auditors in overseeing public funds, this conference aimed to instill the fundamental principles of accountability and good governance in the school's students.

This initiative, spearheaded by the High Representative of the President of the Republic, Gilbert Koné Kafana, was held for the very first time within the walls of the ENA (National School of Administration). The objective? To bring state institutions closer to those who will be the pillars of the public administration tomorrow.

A key step towards responsible governance

At the opening of the proceedings, Amadou Koné, Chief of Staff to the High Representative, highlighted the unique nature of this edition:

"Mastering the missions and functioning of institutions is a prerequisite for exercising responsible and effective administration."

He recalled that these exchanges strengthen institutional culture and democracy, before conveying Gilbert Koné Kafana's thanks to the president of the Court of Auditors, Kanvaly Diomandé, for his constant involvement.

Accountability as "the beginning of wisdom"

Addressing the audience, the president of the Court of Auditors, Kanvaly Diomandé, stressed the need to integrate transparency from the initial training of public managers:

"If they are imbued with the principles of good governance and know that they will be held accountable for their management, that is the beginning of wisdom."

The president of the institution also took the opportunity to address the major challenges facing the Court of Auditors in light of the explosion in the state budget over the past fifteen years. To ensure optimal oversight of this growing volume of public finances, he advocated for an increase in the number of magistrates .

An enthusiasm shared by management and institutions

The Director General of ENA, Sepy-Yessoh Narcisse Thomas, welcomed this initiative, recalling that a good understanding of republican institutions is essential for future civil servants as well as for citizens.

The event brought together a host of prestigious personalities, including:

2. Representatives of the Minister of State, Minister of Public Service and Administrative Modernisation.
