On Wednesday, June 10, 2026, Kalil Konaté, Minister of Trade, Industry, and Handicrafts, conducted an immersion visit to the Yopougon industrial zone (north of Abidjan). The objective was to learn about the realities on the ground, exchange ideas with economic stakeholders, and review projects aimed at improving the business environment.

An on-the-ground assessment approach. Following up on the tours conducted in Koumassi and PK24 last February, this visit took the ministerial delegation to the heart of the production units. The minister also inspected the rehabilitation projects managed by SOGEDI (Société de gestion et de développement des infrastructures industrielles), the supervised body responsible for managing these areas. Discussions with the operators focused primarily on their operational needs and the sector's growth prospects.

Support for local transformation and call for partnership Welcoming the ongoing momentum, particularly in the metallurgy and construction materials sectors, the minister recalled that " Côte d'Ivoire is moving towards the industrialization of certain sectors ".

To support this momentum, Kalil Konaté has:

1. Advocated for enhanced collaboration between the state and the private sector through the co-financing of structuring infrastructure.
2. Congratulate the business leaders for their investments and their role in job creation.

A vast rehabilitation program is underway. The country's industrial zones, often built several decades ago, require constant upgrading. Mamadou Diomandé, Director General of SOGEDI, took advantage of this visit to detail his organization's actions: " We now have a national rehabilitation program that allows us to intervene annually in the various industrial zones. " This essential work primarily targets the repair of roads, the improvement of drainage networks, and the modernization of public facilities.
