La Banque mondiale érige la Côte d’Ivoire en modèle africain
Received in audience by President Alassane Ouattara, a World Bank delegation, led by its Vice President for West and Central Africa, Ousmane Diagana, warmly commended Côte d'Ivoire's economic and social performance. The country is now cited as an example on the continent for its results-oriented management.
Mr. Diagana explained that his visit to Abidjan was part of the mid-term review of a key World Bank initiative. This program aims to assess the real impact of funding on the ground, prioritizing tangible successes over mere theoretical promises.
"Ivory Coast has already done remarkable work. We wanted to bring together other African nations around it, not only to popularize this initiative, but also to highlight Ivorian successes," he stated.
This spotlight coincides opportunely with the finalization of the new National Development Plan (NDP) of Côte d'Ivoire, itself structured around the direct impact of public policies.
Discussions between the head of state and the head of the financial institution focused on optimizing funds to ensure:
Key sectors supported by the World Bank in Côte d'Ivoire
⚡ Energy : Modernization and access to electricity
🌾 Agriculture : Strengthening food security and productivity
🎓 Human Capital : Education, Health and Youth Integration
Faced with an unstable international context, Ousmane Diagana announced that the World Bank planned to increase its financial envelopes to help the country better withstand external economic shocks.
In conclusion, President Alassane Ouattara shared several strategic directions for improving the effectiveness of international aid. The ultimate goal remains clear: to ensure that every dollar invested translates into positive and measurable change in the daily lives of Ivorians.
