The Ivorian livestock and fisheries sector is poised to take a major step forward. From May 19 to 23, 2026, the Minister of Animal and Fisheries Resources, Sidi Tiémoko Touré, led a large-scale working mission to the United States. The main objective was to promote the upcoming Abidjan Livestock Show ( SELAB 2026 ) and attract American expertise.
This immersion across the Atlantic allowed for the establishment of privileged contacts with public institutions, research laboratories and giants of the American private sector.
On May 20, the Ivorian delegation arrived at the Southern University Experiment Station in Louisiana. American experts unveiled cutting-edge technologies that could transform livestock farming in Côte d'Ivoire.
The aim of the discussions? To adapt these tools to the local context in order to drastically boost the quality and yield of Ivorian meat production.
