Fragility Forum 2026 : À Washington, Patrick Achi mise sur l'emploi pour stabiliser les zones de crise
As the guest of honor of the President of the World Bank Group, Ajay Banga, the President of the National Assembly of Côte d'Ivoire, Patrick Achi, spoke this Monday, June 8, in Washington, DC, at the opening of the Fragility Forum 2026 .
Facing international decision-makers, the former Prime Minister shared the trajectory of Ivory Coast, which has now become a model of resilience and post-crisis reconstruction.
Under the leadership of President Alassane Ouattara, Côte d'Ivoire has restored peace and revived its economy. According to Patrick Achi, the key to this stabilization lies in a three-pronged approach of massive investments:
For Patrick Achi, creating professional opportunities is the ultimate weapon against instability. He particularly emphasized the social impact of work in fragile regions:
“Our conviction is clear: in fragile contexts, employment is not just an economic issue. It is a lever for dignity, social cohesion, crisis prevention, and collective hope.”
This vision has materialized in Ivory Coast through targeted professional integration policies for young people and women, the two most vulnerable segments of the population.
In conclusion, the Ivorian authorities reiterated that a military or security response alone is insufficient to guarantee lasting peace. The two approaches must be complementary.
