Le CNDH défend son intégrité face aux accusations de partialité

In a statement released on Thursday, April 16, 2026, the National Human Rights Council (CNDH) firmly denied the criticism leveled against its president, Dr. Adjélou Christian Arnaud, and the members of his bureau. These accusations, which surfaced after the election of the new executive on March 24, were dismissed by the institution as "disinformation."

The Council wished to reiterate the key points of its operation:

  1. Statutory independence: Governed by the 2018 law and the UN's "Paris Principles".
  2. Collegial operation: Decisions are made by a college of 12 members from diverse backgrounds, thus guaranteeing objectivity.
  3. Impartiality criterion: The institution specifies that neutrality is judged by actions and respect for human rights, and not on assumptions of political affiliations.

While calling on critics to exercise restraint, the CNDH reaffirms its commitment to pursuing its missions of protecting citizens in complete transparency.
