38,92 Millions d’Euros de la BAD pour Renforcer la Gouvernance Économique
The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank ( AfDB ) approved, on November 19, 2025 in Abidjan, crucial financing of 38.92 million euros (or 25.52 billion CFA francs) for Côte d'Ivoire.
This amount is allocated to the Governance Support Project for the Promotion of Inclusive Growth (PAGOCI) .
The envelope consists of two distinct sources:
The PAGOCI is designed to address a major challenge in the Ivorian economy: strengthening financial governance and improving the mobilization of national resources .
According to Kevin Lumbila, division chief at the AfDB, the objective is to support " strong, resilient, and inclusive " growth by optimizing the efficiency of public spending. The project also emphasizes the integration of climate issues and gender equity into public policies.
The program will be deployed around several key areas to support the implementation of the 2026-2030 National Development Plan :
Improving financial transparency is seen as a key issue for stimulating the private sector and attracting investors.
This strengthening of governance is essential for Côte d'Ivoire, which aims to achieve upper-middle-income country status by 2030 , an objective requiring modernized and robust institutions.
Finally, PAGOCI is also a driver of social progress by contributing to the integration of gender issues into public projects and by supporting the development of the new Gender Strategy of the national policy on equality and equity.
