At the opening of the second edition of the Program for Strengthening Governance and Management of National Public Institutions (PRGGEPN), this Monday, June 29, 2026, in Abidjan, the Minister of State Portfolio and Public Enterprises, Professor Mariatou Koné, made a firm statement. Her message to the leaders of National Public Institutions (EPNs) was clear: transparency, rigor, and performance must now be the guiding principles of their management.

An imperative of accountability to citizens

Addressing the chairpersons of the boards of directors and the managing directors, the minister reminded them of the heavy responsibility they bear in managing public funds. Aligned with President Alassane Ouattara's vision, she expects concrete results and decisions based on objectivity.

"The State of Côte d'Ivoire trusts you [...] When national public institutions perform well, the whole of Côte d'Ivoire progresses," stressed Professor Mariatou Koné.

The role of these structures is crucial: training, public services, economic development, and the environment. According to the minister, the public expects a direct impact on their daily lives, which requires managers to maintain a continuous culture of performance and accountability.

Focus on professionalization with the PRGGEPN

To meet these challenges, the ministry is relying on the PRGGEPN. According to Daouda Kamagaté, Director General of EPN, this program aims to sustainably professionalize public governance through the sharing of experiences and the strengthening of skills.

This initiative benefits from the expertise of the National Institute of Administrators of Côte d'Ivoire (INAD-CI). Its president, Viviane Zunon-Kipré, reaffirmed her institution's commitment to building modern, responsible, and results-oriented governance.

Following the success of the first edition in 2025 (112 participants), this 2026 session focuses on interactivity to deepen skills in financial and budgetary management.
