Incident de Niamey : l’Airbus A319 d’Air Côte d’Ivoire de retour à Abidjan, reprise des vols prochaine
The Airbus A319 of the national airline Air Côte d'Ivoire, damaged during an incident at Niamey airport on the night of January 28-29, 2026, returned to the tarmac of Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport in Abidjan on Friday, February 6, 2026.
The Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs, Amadou Koné, visited the site on February 9th to assess the condition of the aircraft and commend the work of the technical teams. He emphasized that the repairs, carried out in coordination with the aircraft manufacturer, had progressed rapidly in order to return the aircraft to operational status.
According to Mr. Koné, all necessary measures have been taken to ensure the continuity of Air Côte d'Ivoire's operations, while maintaining service to African capitals, despite security constraints. He assured that the A319 will resume flights very soon.
The minister also congratulated the technical teams for their responsiveness, praising their professionalism in handling this incident, and thanked the Nigerien authorities for their collaboration in the repair and return of the aircraft to Abidjan.
Amadou Koné highlighted the importance of this aircraft for maintaining Air Côte d'Ivoire's regional links, and recalled the commitment of the Ivorian government, under the vision of President Alassane Ouattara, to strengthen national air transport as a lever for regional integration and the development of trade on the African continent.
