Métro d’Abidjan : Cap sur 2027 pour les premières rames
During a trip to France on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, the Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs, Amadou Koné , visited the Alstom site in Valenciennes . This strategic visit aimed to inspect the progress of the manufacturing of the trainsets intended for the future Line 1 of the Abidjan metro.
Far from the media frenzy, car production is progressing at a steady pace. The Minister expressed particular optimism regarding meeting deadlines:
“The work is progressing satisfactorily. I met a team that is motivated and proud to be building what will be the very first metro in sub-Saharan Africa,” said Amadou Koné.
This large-scale project, driven by the vision of President Alassane Ouattara , is poised to radically transform the daily lives of Abidjan residents:
