Secteur minier : La Côte d’Ivoire attribue 4 nouveaux permis de recherche aurifère au Centre et au Nord
The Ivorian government is continuing its momentum in developing the mining sector. During the Council of Ministers meeting held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, under the chairmanship of Alassane Ouattara, four new gold exploration permits were granted. Valid for four years , these exploration authorizations cover strategic areas located in the center and north of the country.
The permits were granted to two separate mining operators:
Note: These mining permits authorize only the geological exploration phase. In accordance with the current mining code, they do not guarantee an automatic transition to a future industrial exploitation phase.
This new wave of mining concessions is part of the Ivorian government's overall strategy to consolidate its position among the leading gold producers in West Africa. By opening new exploration areas in still under-explored regions, the country is maintaining the interest of both domestic and international investors.
The recurrence of locations like Mankono , integrated into the portfolios of both companies, as well as the dynamism around the far North (Korhogo, Boundiali), confirm the strong geological potential that the Ivorian subsoil still holds.
