Mariatou Koné Prône un Encadrement Pédagogique Bienveillant et Non Stressant

The Minister of National Education and Literacy, Professor Mariatou Koné , held a meeting deemed "historic" at the Directorate of Examinations and Competitions (DECO), bringing together Ivorian inspectors and educational advisors. This meeting, praised for the frankness of the discussions and mutual recognition , sealed a renewed commitment to excellence in the education system.

Pedagogical Support at the Heart of the Acknowledgments

The representatives of the supervisors expressed their deep gratitude to the Minister.

  1. Historic Recognition: The spokesperson for the inspectors, Mr. Serikpa Modeste , stressed that this was the very first time they had been officially received by the head of Ivorian education, thus valuing their function.
  2. Results Praised: They attributed the steady progress in discipline and academic results to the Minister's "vigorously pursued" educational policy .
  3. Appreciated Reforms: The educational advisors, through Mrs. Coulibaly NNA Léa, wife of Traoré , praised the reforms resulting from the National Education Conference, citing in particular the positive impact of the National Program for the Improvement of Early School Learning (PNAPAS) , from the training of supervisors to the improvement of school performance.

A "Spine" on a Mission: Support, Not Anxiety-Inducing Control

In response to these accolades, Minister Mariatou Koné emphasized the essential role of supervisors, whom she considers to be the "backbone" of the system.

"Without quality teaching and supervision, our objectives will remain out of reach," she insisted, stating that their key mission is the effective transmission of knowledge, beyond the simple mastery of content.

To support their work, the Minister announced the continuation of the allocation of motorcycles , thus facilitating close monitoring by educational advisors.

However, she called for increased accountability , urging inspectors to revise their approach:

  1. Desired Posture: Adopt an attitude of benevolent accompaniment and support.
  2. Posture to Avoid: Abandoning anxiety-inducing control and presence experienced as a source of stress in schools.

"Your presence in schools should be seen as support and not as stress," she reminded, advocating for a balance between kindness and rigor .

Key Instructions and Guidelines

In conclusion, the Minister reiterated important guidelines for the stability of the system:

  1. Textbooks: Current textbooks will remain unchanged for at least four years, with a warning against any unauthorized modification.
  2. Discipline: She emphasized respect for hierarchy and proper use of equipment provided to teams.
