Ivorian scientific research is taking a new step towards concrete innovation. From June 23 to July 9, 2026, the third cohort of the Structuring Project for Training in Innovative Collaboration in Research in Côte d'Ivoire (PSF-CIRCI) met in Abidjan. The objective? To transform scientific practices by leveraging collective intelligence.

Among the participants in this edition, Dr. Oungbé Venance , a specialist in raniculture (frog farming), particularly distinguished himself with a pioneering project: structuring the country's very first raniculture sector.

The "RANI+" project: Structuring the non-existent

On Monday, July 12, 2026, Dr. Oungbé Venance shared on his official website the results of his three-week immersion. For this passionate researcher, the Psf-Circi was the ideal catalyst to consolidate his major initiative: the "RANI+ Integrated Farm for large-scale sustainable froglet production."

"This training has allowed me to better structure my project, to more effectively identify strategic stakeholders and to define a clear vision for the development of the rand industry in Ivory Coast, an industry that still needs to be built," he explained.

Beyond the technical methodology, it was the collaborative dynamic and the creation of interdisciplinary networks that left their mark on the scientist. These connections proved essential for building strong bridges between the academic world, institutions, and development actors on the ground.

Dr. Oungbé Venance's ambitions

Driven by the desire to provide sustainable solutions to the economic and environmental challenges facing Ivory Coast, the researcher has set himself a clear roadmap:

  1. Officially launch the RANI+ project ;
  2. Inaugurate the first pilot farm for the production of farmed froglets;
  3. Bringing together national stakeholders to co-create a solid and structured value chain;
  4. Promoting scientific research as a lever for economic and social growth.

About the Psf-Circi

Led since 2024 by a high-level duo — Dominique Serça (Deputy Director of the Aerology Laboratory) and Professor Fatou Scherazade Ouattara (Félix Houphouët-Boigny University) —, the Psf-Circi has become an unmissable event.

In three cohorts, this program has already supported 45 researchers, teacher-researchers and doctoral students . By connecting national and international institutions, it has established itself as an accelerator of concrete solutions, designed for and by local communities.
