1er Mai : Le Ministre Adama Kamara célèbre la paix sociale et les réformes structurelles

On the occasion of Labor Day, celebrated this Friday, May 1, 2026, Adama Kamara, Minister of Employment, Social Protection, and Vocational Training, presented a positive assessment of the government's actions at the Prime Minister's office. His address focused on the successes of the 2022-2027 social truce and the strengthening of a constructive dialogue with labor unions.

Social dialogue, an engine of stability

The Minister commended the civic-mindedness and responsibility of the trade unions. For Mr. Adama Kamara, the current social peace is not a coincidence, but the result of a culture of dialogue that allows Côte d'Ivoire to progress steadily.

"We aim to go further and do better, because we have achievements to preserve and other major battles to win together," he stated.

Employment and Training: A Profound Transformation

The government intends to bring about a lasting transformation of the Ivorian economic landscape through several strategic levers:

  1. Modernizing the labor market: Thanks to the National Employment Policy (NEP), the market is becoming more inclusive. Emphasis is placed on the transition to the formal economy through the SNIT-EF .
  2. Apprenticeship reform: The transformation of AGEFOP and FDFP aims to make vocational training a true pillar of competitiveness for the country.
  3. Skills development: An absolute priority to adapt the workforce to global economic realities.

Worker Safety and Protection

One of the key aspects of the intervention concerned the improvement of working conditions for employees. The Minister highlighted major legal and technical advances:

  1. Application of the Labour Code: Adoption of long-awaited implementing decrees.
  2. Occupational Health: Commissioning of the Technical Advisory Committee for Employee Safety and Health.
  3. Strengthening controls: An increased commitment to giving labor inspectors the means to prevent and punish abuses.

A course maintained towards emergence

In concluding his message, Mr. Adama Kamara reiterated the State's commitment to maintaining open communication with social partners. The objective remains clear: to build a fair, secure, and resilient professional environment in the face of economic changes, while guaranteeing shared growth for all Ivorians.
