Côte d’Ivoire : trois enfants meurent calcinés dans un incendie à Alépé
A tragic event occurred on Saturday, January 10, 2026 , in Memni , a town located about twelve kilometers from Alépé , on the Alépé–Dinguira road. A fire in a mud-brick house claimed the lives of three children aged 6 months, 3 years, and 4 years .
Alerted, the civilian firefighters of Alépé quickly arrived on the scene and managed to control the fire using a hose . Unfortunately, the three children, who were inside the house at the time of the fire, were found dead, burned beyond recognition .
The exact circumstances of the fire are still under investigation. An inquiry is expected to be launched to determine the cause. This tragedy has plunged the town of Memni into deep sorrow and reignited the debate surrounding home safety , particularly in precarious housing.
