Man : un grumier perd ses freins et finit sa course dans le vide
Man, November 7, 2025 – More fear than harm occurred this Friday in the early afternoon in the capital of Tonkpi. A logging truck carrying timber ended up in a ravine, just past the Man Municipal College , on the road leading to Abidjan.
According to several witnesses at the scene, a brake system failure was the cause of the accident. The driver reportedly lost control of his vehicle on a downhill slope before ending up in a ravine below the road.
While no loss of life was reported, the material damage is considerable . A shop and a hair salon located by the roadside were severely damaged by the truck's fall and the impact of the logs.
Rescuers , assisted by local volunteers , took several hours to pull the truck out of the ravine. Traffic was disrupted on this busy section of the Man-Abidjan highway for the duration of the operation.
This incident highlights the need for regular checks of the mechanical condition of vehicles , particularly heavy goods vehicles, as the end of the year approaches and traffic intensifies on Ivorian roads.
