Législatives 2025 à Koro : Retour au calme après des tensions au domicile du PCA de l’AGEF
The day after the legislative elections of December 27, 2025, was marked by tensions in Koro (Bafing region). Clashes broke out on Sunday, December 28, near the residence of Ibrahim Bakayoko, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AGEF, which also served as the headquarters for independent candidate Bakayoko Karamoko.
The origin of the altercation: Tensions arose during celebrations of the victory of Dr. Soumahoro Youssouf, the RHDP candidate, who was credited with 54.10% of the vote by the Independent Electoral Commission (CEI). The procession of the winner's supporters crossed paths with the headquarters of the independent candidate (44% of the vote) on its route. What began as a verbal exchange escalated into stone-throwing, causing widespread panic.
The situation was brought under control. Thanks to the swift intervention of the gendarmerie, calm was restored without any major material damage or loss of life. Dr. Soumahoro Youssouf immediately called for restraint, reminding everyone that the election must remain a democratic exercise and not a source of division.
