Arabie saoudite : 12 soldats américains blessés dans une attaque attribuée à l'Iran

A new escalation of violence has struck Prince Sultan Air Base, located in Al-Kharj (southeast of Riyadh). On Friday, an offensive combining missiles and drones targeted the facilities, wounding at least 12 American forces.

The outcome of the assault

According to reports in the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal , the human and material toll is significant:

  1. Injured: At least 12 soldiers were hit, two of whom are in serious condition.
  2. Circumstances: The victims were inside a building at the time of the impact.
  3. Material damage: Several in-flight refueling aircraft were damaged on the tarmac.

An explosive regional context

Although the Pentagon and U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) have not yet officially commented on the event, this attack is part of an open conflict with Tehran since the end of February.

The key figure: Since February 28, hostilities with Iran have claimed the lives of 13 American servicemen (7 in the Gulf and 6 in Iraq) and left more than 300 injured.

The joint use of drones and ballistic missiles confirms an increased sophistication of operational methods targeting Washington's interests in the region.
